The Bonneville Salt Flats

2370 S Decker Lake Blvd West Valley City, UT 84119

Facetune_02-12-2020-14-53-34.JPG

The Bonneville Salt Flats consist of 30,000 acres of densely compacted salt, due to the drying out of Lake Bonneville. There are many areas/rest stops to stop along the main road to visit. You can walk and drive on the salt flats, however be careful the salt could damage your car. I absolutely loved taking pictures here, the views are so incredible.

Wildflower hikes

Salt Lake City, Utah

Spring wildflowers (April-June):

Mount Olympus

8.0 Mile hike with incredible skyline view of Salt Lake City. Slightly difficult trail because of the steep terrain. Pets are allowed if they are leashed, although this is a heavily trafficked trail located right off the road.

Summer wildflowers (July-August)

Catherine's Pass Hike

3.0 Mile moderate hike that loops around lake Catherine. The trail is surrounded by wildflowers leading up to the lake, the views are truly jaw dropping. Pets are allowed if they are leashed!

Real life 'UP' House

13218 Herriman Rose Blvd Herriman, Utah

This is an exact replica of Carl and Ellie’s house from the Disney Pixar movie UP. There is a family that lives in this house, so be respectful of their privacy. If you do wish to take a photoshoot at this location or more than just a snapshot, the family does ask that you book a time slot. The family also hosts tours of the inside of their home, which also replicates the movie exactly, you can book these via their website as well. This is such a cool and unique spot!

VERTICAL DINER

234 W 900 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

Vertical Diner is a fully vegan diner that believes that eating a plant based diet will positively change the world environmentally, socially, emotionally, physically and creatively. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming, I strongly recommend Vertical Diner to anyone who is plant-based or desires to be, so yummy!

Fifth Water Hot Springs Trail

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest

Absolutely stunning 4.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail that leads to a large hot spring and waterfall.  You can soak in the hot springs, however the temperature is hot! I recommend bringing a towel or a change of clothes, shoes to wear in the hot spring, and sunscreen. It is common to see other travelers on the trail, as well as the possibility of seeing wildlife. This is my favorite hot spring i’ve been to!

This is a large, open-air area in downtown Salt Lake City where there is shopping, dining, entertainment, events, residential, and office space. This is such a cute gem in the heart of the city with so many activities to join in on.

HOMEStead crater

700 North Homestead Dr, Midway, UT 84049

The Homestead Crater is a Crater located within the Homestead Resort. The Crater is a 65-foot deep geothermal spring that is located within a 55-foot tall mound of limestone rock. The Crater was formed when snow melted on the Wasatch Mountains, heating the earth and picking up minerals. There is a dome at the top of the Crater where you can look down into it, the dome brings in sunlight and heats the interior where the water is 90-96 degrees. You can climb to the top of the dome and check out the Crater, or you can book a time to experience the Crater’s interior. Within the Crater you can swim/soak, snorkel, scuba dive, or practice yoga on paddle boards. I chose to practice yoga on paddle boards within the Crater and it was an unbelievable, once in a lifetime experience.

OLYMPIC PARK

3419 Olympic Pkwy, Park City, UT 84098

WOW, this place is so amazing. The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation converted the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games venue into a park full of activities in hopes to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle. This park truly has an activity for everyone as well as having a museum full of the parks history and olympic stats. The park is so unique, you can participate in activities at the same location that Olympic medalists did.
